What’s something most people don’t know about you?

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

What most people don’t know about me—the family man and truck driver—is that I am, at my core, an avid, lifelong writer. That has always been my true passion and my greatest creative outlet.

My journey started years ago, long before my new music project, SUBVIOLET, began. It all started with the written word. As a kid, I was constantly filling journals and poetry notebooks. That foundation eventually grew into songwriting, where I refined my skills by crafting lyrics and narratives. This later pushed me even further, leading me to write longer-form stories and ultimately resulting in the publication of two books.

However, the leap from private notebooks to public works was a major hurdle. I had a significant fear of sharing my writing with the world. To conquer that, I took the courageous first step right here on this platform a few years ago: I started a blog. It was a test of vulnerability and a way to practice putting my words out there.

Today, my music project, SUBVIOLET, is the natural continuation of that writing journey. SUBVIOLET is my new Dark-Pop/Synthwave music project, only three months old, where I focus on creating cinematic, high-energy soundtracks. While I am a musician and singer, I recognize that my strongest point is the writing itself. I am using AI to generate the accompanying music, which allows me to focus my energy on what I do best: crafting the lyrics. Every word you hear in a SUBVIOLET track is an original lyric written by me.

The truth is, I’m not just a truck driver who makes music on the side; I am a writer who uses music as another vehicle for my stories and creative voice.

  1. The song is catchy. I have mixed feelings about using ai to make the music. Why not collaborate with a person? I would think that there are musicians looking for a good lyricist.

    1. Man, thanks so much for checking out the song and for the message. I really appreciate it.

To be honest with you, going the AI route wasn’t my first choice. It’s actually a bit heartbreaking. I’ve been trying to collaborate with people for years, and it always ends the same way: they leave me hanging. It’s sad, but I got tired of depending on others just to get my music heard.

The real challenge is my life. I’d love to just perform and produce everything myself, but between playing guitar, singing, and the reality of being a truck driver, getting other musicians to sit down together is nearly impossible. I was in a band a long time ago, and it simply takes up more time than I have now.

My strong point has always been the writing—the lyrics, the stories. So, until I find the right person to partner with, AI is my solution. It’s the only way my music gets to exist.

It’s not easy, though! I’m not just typing a line and walking away. I have to generate the music through Suno AI about five or six times to get that sound that finally clicks with my vision.

The good news is that because I have a paid subscription with Suno, all the music they generate is completely copyrighted to me, and my lyrics are original, of course. This means I can keep sharing music without legal worries.

Hopefully, you subscribe to the YouTube channel. I promise I have a lot more music coming up. Thanks again for listening, and hopefully you share this with a friend, my friend.
