What If You and Jesus Visited Your Pain
Imagine if you and Jesus went back together, side by side, to each memory of hurt. This time, though, you’re not alone. He’s there with you, not as a distant observer, but as someone who’s always been there, standing with you in each wound you carry. With a gentle hand, He points to the scars—each one a memory, a place of pain—and begins to speak, His words reaching past the hurt, right to the heart of who you are.
“I Remember This Scar”
Jesus stops, pointing to a scar within you that’s hidden from everyone else. “I remember this one,” He says softly. “I know exactly how it got here. I remember every detail—every word, every action that left you feeling broken.” He looks at you with eyes full of compassion, letting you know He saw it all. “I know you blame Me for what happened, for the hurt that was done to you, and you think I allowed it to happen. But that’s not true. One thing is for sure: those who caused you pain stepped out of love. I saw you lying there, broken and crying, feeling so alone. You gave this scar a name, let it define you, but I call you healed. My words—not this hurt—get to define who you are.”
“This Scar Over Here, Deep Within Your Heart”
He moves to another place of pain, one buried even deeper, a wound that still aches. Jesus gently touches it, saying, “This one, deep in your heart—I was there.” His voice is steady, unwavering. “I remember every moment, every feeling that came with this hurt. I remember the way you felt abandoned, how you questioned your worth, the loneliness that settled in. I remember the night that scar was marked on you—the night you cried so hard you could barely breathe. And later, I remember when you thought of ending it all, thinking you weren’t worth more than the pain you carried. But I had a purpose for you, a plan that was never meant to include your suffering. That’s what happens when man moves out of love, and you suffered because of that choice, not because I wanted it for you.” He pauses, looking at you with a tenderness that reaches past the pain. “You thought you were alone, but I was always with you. You let this scar shape you, even name you, but I call you something greater. I call you My child.”
“You Were Never Alone”
Jesus points to each scar, not with judgment, but with deep empathy. “Each of these, you allowed to mark you,” He says, “to tell you who you are. But I am the one who created you, who has seen every part of your journey. You were never alone—not for a moment, even when it felt that way. I know who you truly are.” He reaches out, offering His hand, inviting you to let His words, His truth, be what defines you now. “I call you beloved. I call you whole. I call you Mine.”
“I Know Every Detail”
With each scar, He recalls the moments you felt abandoned and unseen. “Every time you doubted yourself, every time you felt unworthy—I was there,” He assures you. “You were never truly alone. I remember every hurt that created these scars, and I remember how each one felt to you.” His words don’t erase the pain; they redeem it, showing you that even in the darkest moments, He never left.
“You Are Healed, You Are Loved, You Are Mine”
Finally, Jesus stands back, looking at you as a whole, seeing not just the scars but the person beneath them. “These marks don’t define you,” He says, His voice strong yet gentle. “I am the one who defines you. Let each scar be a reminder, not of the hurt, but of the healing I am bringing to you.” He smiles, calling you by name, “You are My child, loved beyond measure, and every scar you carry is something I can use to create a deeper strength within you.”
