“When I was 14 years old, my cousin Greg and his family came to visit us from Oklahoma. It was one of those family gatherings where everyone went off to see other relatives, leaving Greg and me at home. With a sudden burst of enthusiasm, I decided we should cook some steaks.

I remembered watching a cooking show where they talked about tenderizing the meat, so that’s what we decided to do. Little did we know, we were about to embark on a culinary adventure we would never forget.

I retrieved the steaks from the fridge, knowing my dad had intended to cook them for the weekend. We started the process, completely oblivious to the impending chaos. As we began tenderizing the meat, blood seemed to splatter everywhere, turning our innocent cooking venture into a scene from a horror movie.

Despite the kitchen chaos, we seasoned the steaks with salt and pepper and put them on the stove. We were excited for our meal. However, our joy turned to disappointment when we saw that the steaks were burnt on the outside and still raw inside when we cut into them.

We had unwittingly turned our steak into a blackened, burnt disaster. Our culinary experiment had not only ruined the steak but also left my mom’s kitchen in shambles. Needless to say, both of us found ourselves in hot water that day, learning the hard way that sometimes cooking is best left to the experts.”
